Granite Engineering Services (GES) was founded in 2002 by Paul Brunskill.
GES has grown from a small firm, focusing on mechanical and electrical designs for both commercial and residential applications, to a multi-disciplined engineering company. With this growth we have expanded our business to structural design, full-scale site design/development, project design and management in all area's; residential, commercial, industrial and civil. GES's client base ranges from private individuals and businesses to local township and municipal offices in the Muskoka areas and beyond. The GES staff and contractors continue to grow substantially, as well as its network of technical resources.

GES continually strives for excellence in multi-discipline engineering services and project management; to be a versatile company that responds to the changing and challenging needs of our clients. GES is turning these challenges into practical solutions that exceed all local, municipal/provincial guidelines and standards while respecting professional, environmental and ethical standards.

GES Team

Every employee of Granite Engineering is dedicated to producing the finest possible designs. GES’s team consists of fully licenses architects, engineers as well as full design staff.

Paul is the owner/operator of GES and is our senior engineer. Paul has his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lakehead University and is a member of the Professionals Engineers of Ontario. Paul has over 19 years of experience in structural engineering design in Muskoka and the challenges the unique Muskoka terrain brings with it. Paul’s experience spans residential, commercial and industrial. His passion for his work involves being able to watch the process and growth of business projects and ensuring his projects reflect both his professionalism and the client’s vision.

Cathy has worked for GES for almost three years. She brings over 30 years of experience in the accounting and business fields. Cathy has owned several small businesses of her own and brings that wealth of knowledge with her to GES. Cathy is a Civil Engineering Technologist by education. As controller, Cathy manages the administration, human resources and finances of GES; as the project manager, she manages our large-scale projects. Cathy is the go-to person for customer questions and concerns as well as for the day to day operations for Granite Engineering Services.

Cliff is a detail-oriented designer/ACAD technician with several decades of building and manufacturing experience. Cliff's career began in a architects' offices and progressed through industrial design, to heavy steel fabrication. Projects include window and door operator hardware systems to concrete delivery conveyor systems for hydro-electric dams. Cliff also does that majority of our commercial and residential projects. Focusing on building structural design, Cliff works with the Granite Engineering Services team to develop reliable, cost-conscious solutions for our clients.

Melinda has worked at GES for just over a year. She has a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Conservation & Sustainability Engineering from Carleton University. She works primarily on drafting programs such as ACAD on residential & commercial projects. As an EIT, Melinda brings an eagerness and a desire to learn to GES. Her passion lies in finding effective solutions to complex engineering problems.

Jenna has worked with GES for five years. She has an advanced diploma in Interior Design from Fanshawe College. She works primarily with design programs such as ACAD on residential and commercial projects. Jenna brings youth and fresh ideas to GES. Her passion revolves around being able to work alongside clients to help create their vision into reality.
